王叔岷先生所撰《莊子校詮》為歷代《莊子》注本中校勘最精審、訓詁最明確的一部鉅著。此書以堅實的考據為基礎，進而上探莊子思想的精義，為《莊子》書中千古未決的疑難文句，提供了諸多精彩的解答。本文將以《寓言》篇的「巵言」、〈養生主〉的「養親」、〈人間世〉的「坐馳」、〈德充符〉的「通而不失於兌」等四處難詞為例，論析王叔岷先生的詮釋如何超越前代注家，以窺其書勝義之一斑。

Among the various commentaries on Zhuangzi, Mr. Wang Su-Min's Revisal and Interpretations on Zhuangzi stands out as a masterpiece due to its extraordinary accuracy in textual collation and precision in philological elucidation. Grounded in solid scholarship of textual research and criticism, the book also explores the quintessence of Zhuangzi's thought and provides a number of authoritative interpretations to resolve aged-old disputes over some difficult passages in Zhuangzi. In this essay, by way of discussing four abstruse passages in Zhuangzi, namely, “zhi yan” in the Yuyan chapter, “yang qin” in the Yangsheng zhu chapter, “zuo chi” in the Renjian shi chapter, and “tong er bu shi yu dui” in the Dechong fu chapter, I demonstrate how Mr. Wang surpasses his predecessors in his interpretations and thereby offer some glimpses into the brilliant insights contained in his book.
