父親在原住民大學生心目中到底是怎樣的一種存在?許多的原住民文化是以女性為尊，父親似乎是隱身在背後的一個影子，而一般人也較少提及父親，本研究試圖探討原住民大學生對父親形象的知覺。本研究採用半結構式深度訪談為資料蒐集方法，結果發現:父職雖然可能是因為文化或性別角色區分而與母職不同，然而只要「必要性」出現，父親還是會毅然承擔起自己的親職工作。雖然父親還是執守較為傳統的父親樣貌，父親為老兵與父親為原住氏的教養態度與子女所看到的父親形象有差異，退伍老兵對於子女的教養很重視、也承擔較多的親職責任，這或許必須將成長時代背景與資源考量在內。原住民父親以養家為主要職責，其斟酒習慣與暴力，影響家庭與親子關係甚深，而子女似乎也在成長之後才可以更深刻體會父親的關愛方式。軍教護是這些父親心目中的好生涯，孩子在學業上的成就也讓父親驕傲。

How father image exists in Native Taiwanese college students' eyes? Many cultures of Native Taiwanese are supposed to be female-headed， thus
deemphasizes the importance of father role. This study intends to explore the father image in Native Taiwanese college students' perspectives by utilizing semi-structured interviews to collect data. The results show: (1)Fatherhood might be different from motherhood due to cultural and roles expectations， however， fathers would shoulder the parenting responsibilities if“necessary". Those fathers in this survey arebasically abiding by the traditional father image， there are differences between fathers who retired from military and those of Native Taiwanese. Fathers retired from military posts are more democratic in their parenting style. Native Taiwanese' fathers are habitual drinkers and physical violence， bread-winners are regarded as their primary function. Cultural factors， chronicle cohort， and resources should be considered into thedistinction. Soldiers， nurses， and teachers are the most desirable and respectable careers in Native Taiwanese community， and those participants honor their fathers by presenting their academic achievement.
