八○年代以來,美國對特殊幼兒的所提供的早期介入計畫,走向了以家庭為核心的支援服務。以家庭為核心的早期介入服務,最重要的目標在增進特殊幼兒整體家庭的福祉,和過去將介入服務的對象鎖定在幼兒和主要照顧者(母親),在概念和服務的提供方式上,都有很大的轉變。
本文整理相關文獻,探討以家庭為核心的支援服務內涵,並瞭解家長在早期介入中的角色定位。

英文摘要

The early intervention programs provided to children with special needs have been moving towards family-centered since 1980's. The most important goal of family-centered services was to improve the overall well-being of the whole families of those children. By switching the objects of services from young children and their main caregivers (usually their mothers) to the families, there was a significant change of early intervention conceptually and implementation of service providing.
In this article the author, through literature review, attempted to probe the implications of family-centered service in early intervention programs, and the importance of parental role in the service providing processes.
