未來學家Toffler 嘗言「教育源於未來的意象，所有教育也創造了未來的意象」。未來主義以培養「未來意識」的教育思想，目的在協助處於日趨快速變遷社會中的學生，學習澄清和發展他們自己的價值觀念，適切地把自己投向未來，藉以有效地應付個人和社會的變動。本研究實地以焦點團體訪談來建構臺灣未來學校理想教育發展趨勢有：以學生為主體的PBL 教學、同儕教練促進專業成長、重「學力」甚於「學歷」、多元評量取代紙筆測驗、打破學習藩籬的流動教育、「數位化」學習的普及、喚起未來意識的的課程設計、終身學習的學習型組織、及全球教育的思維等。最後，並針對研究限制提出省思與未來研究的建議。
