青春期學生的身體從以前到現在都是學界關注的焦點，然其文化性與社會意義從未獲得應有的理解與重視。再者，性別的學習與實踐涉及身體。在日常生活中，身體乃是具體化性／別主體的媒介；而學校作為制度化的社會場域，提供讓人成為男人、女人的重要場所。因此國中學生在校園生活中，如何經驗青春期的身體？校園中的身體因性別的差異，呈現哪些不同的文化符碼與意識規範？如果性／別化的身體既是文化的建構，又是政治爭鬥的場域，那麼國中學生在此爭戰中將會展現哪些主體性與抗拒？他／她們的身體嬉戲、互動、語言又會透露出哪些訊息，讓我們可以一窺他／她們自己的身體意識和性別實作？本研究以南部兩所國中學生為研究對象，利用民族誌的研究方法進入青少年的校園生活裡，藉由深入他／她們的校園生活，去探詢國中校園中男女學生的性別實作與身體經驗，關注這些身體經驗如何形塑他／她們肉身化、性別化、性的主體與認同，並展現出何種集體性的性／別與身體文化。本研究希冀這些研究發現可以為國內性／別教育與研究提供一些新的觀點與理解，並能和教師及年輕學生分享、反思、接納校園中多樣的性別關係與身體實踐。
