臺灣的企業體，大部分都是以中小企業為主，中小企業在臺灣約佔了98%，其中絕大部分都以傳統產業起家的，而隨著科技的進步，生產技術的發達，傳統產業在成本考量及種種競爭力下面臨了生存瓶頸，建立良好的生產體質、改善企業的結構，維持在競爭上的優勢，已是目前的當務課題。因此本研究即在探討自主保養導入傳統產業之模式，並研擬出一套適合現今傳統產業的自主保養導入模式，並將研究結果提供給國內傳統產業在導入自主保養時之參考，以期降低其摸索成本及困難度，而使傳統產業能順利導入自主保養。
