研究目的:為了解「物理治療師訓練機構認定標準」中訓練機構界定在教學醫院層級與否,對初級物理治療師(簡稱PT)繼續教育之影響,乃進行本研究。方法:由行政院衛生署取得截至1998年1月26日領有專業證書之PT名冊及基本資料, 並於3 月設計並寄出問卷,以了解其服務年資與執行業務情形,經催收共回收457份有效問卷(回收率55%)。結果:領證PT總共833人(男性424位、女性409位),即百萬人口有39位PT。以「臨床年資」與「教學醫院年資」分別探討各縣市高級與主治兩級之PT人數與PT訓練機構之數量。根據「臨床年資」,456位PT中,有168位主治PT與269位高級PT,估計有94家訓練機構,有2個縣市並無訓練機構;而根據「教學醫院年資」則分別有119 位主治PT、205位高級PT與37家訓練機構,有8個縣市並無訓練機構。由於目前每年約有500名物理治療師畢業生,若以教學醫院年資之標準,則訓練機構數量不敷需求。結論:建議在現階段,訓練機構為含至少一名主治PT之所有臨床物理治療之部門。作者並呼籲有關單位重視繼續教育問題,由推動繼續教育課程與物理治療師訓練機構之評鑑,來提升物理治療師專業素養與能力。

英文摘要

“The standard of institute of residency training for junior physical therapists”was proposed by the Association of Physical Therapy of Republic of China (Taiwan) in 1997. The residency training institute (RTI) can be any physical therapy department, but it should has avisiting physical therapist (VPT) who has at least 4-year experience in clinics. Purposes: to investigate the possibility of restrict RTI in only
traditional teaching hospital. Method: The datafile of registered physical therapist (RPT) was obtained from the Department of Health in Jan. 1998. Questionnaires were sent to obtain the working years and practice condition. Return rate was 55%. Results: there were 833 RPT (male 424, female 409). The RPT per million population is 39. The numbers of senior PT, visiting PT and residency training institute were 168, 269 and 94 according to the criteria of clinical experience years. And they were 119, 205 and 37 separately according to the criteria of teaching hospital experience years. The numbers of city (country) without residency training were 2 and 8 separately in the previous criteria. The numbers of RTI were definitely not enough for 500 physical therapy graduates each year according to the criteria of teaching hospital experience Conclusion: the criteria of the RTI may not restricted in the teaching hospital at present. The shortage of RTI should be paid attention. The continue education program and the accredential program should be organized to promote the professional competence in the future.
