如何早期發現高危險新生兒的神經動作發展問題，而進一步提供介入，提昇其發展潛能，為新生兒加護病房內積極探討之議題。物理治療師在高危險新生兒的早期發展評估與健康促進方面，扮演重要的角色。本文獻回顧的目的有三：⑴簡介整體動作評估之理論背景與施測方法；⑵比較整體動作評估與其他評估方法對於高危險新生兒發展之預測力；⑶評論整體動作評估之優點與限制。本文的資料將有助於物理治療師對整體動作評估有一個概略性認識，以針對高危險新生兒進行有效之發展評估，做為安排早期介入的根據。（物理治療 2009;34(1):9-17）

Early identification and intervention of neuromotor dysfunction of high-risk infants at neonatal intensive care unit is increasingly emphasized. Physical therapists play an important role in early assessment and intervention for high-risk infants. This review article is aimed for three
purposes: (1) to introduce the theoretical concepts and testing procedure of general movement assessment; (2) to compare the predictive ability of general movement assessment and other assessments; and (3) to delineate the advantages and limits of general movement assessment. The reviewed information will help physical therapists understand general movements and provide the basis for designation of early intervention program. (FJPT 2009;34(1):9-17)
