英文摘要

The measurement of a surface magneto-optic Kerr effect system could achieve one-atomic-layer sensitivity. It becomes an excellent tool for the investigations of magnetic properties of nanometer-thick films when it is constructed under ultrahigh vacuum environment. In this article, we will introduce the theory and the construction of a surface magneto-optic Kerr effect system. The evolution of magnetic responses versus the film thickness for Co/Ir(111) system will also be discussed
