中文摘要

高齡化社會以及身心障礙人口總數的增加,對於輔助器具的需求也越來越高。然無論是義肢或矯具均需針對肢障者的個別需求加以評估、設計與製作、和施予使用訓練,須賴輔助科技專業團隊成員共同的合作,才能讓肢障者使用義肢矯具發揮最佳的效能;義肢矯具師在這個輔助科技專業團隊中,在輔具的設計與製作方面,扮演舉足輕重的角色。義肢矯具師的教育訓練制度在國外發展有成已數十年,且提昇至學士級的養成教育程度。國內外義肢矯具服務情形之比較,明顯的看出國內在此領域的落後與資源的缺乏。本文以英國訓練合格義肢矯具師之課程內容與標準為例子,提出可行性的義肢矯具師養成教育訓練制度與輔助科技專業團隊合作模式,希望提供國內發展辅助科技專業團隊合作的參考。

英文摘要

Needs of assistive devices for the elderly and persons with disabilities are increasing. It requires collaborative work from the assistive technology team to ensure the analysis of needs, design and fabrication, training in use of prostheses or orthoses for persons with physical disabilities to be effective. The involvement of prosthetist and orthotist is important for this collaborative work. The training and educational system for prosthetist and orthotist has been successfully developed in many countries for decades, including promoting the entry-level training to the bachelor degree. In comparison to the training and educational system for the prosthetist and orthotist in foreign countries, it demonstrates that the training and educational program for the native prosthetist and orthotist is very inadequate. This article described in details the curriculum and the requirements for the qualified prosthetist and orthotist in England, and using it as an example to suggest forentry-level professional training for the native prosthetist and orthotist and for the collaborative work among the assistive technology team.
