中文摘要

牙周治療的主要目標為保存牙齒並使其恢復健康與功能,而牙周再生(periodontal regeneration)則可重建因牙周疾病而導致喪失的組織。臨床上運用牙釉基質衍生物enamel matrix derivative(EMD)進行牙周組織再生,運用骨形成蛋白bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs)進行牙周齒槽骨再生,以及運用血小板衍生生長因子platelet derivate growth factor(PDGF)或胰島素生長因子insulin growth factor(IGF)進行牙用軟硬組織的再生,已是可預估性極高的治療方式。本文將針對上述三類別生物材料做進一步探討並分別敘述如下。

英文摘要

The main purpose of periodontal therapy is to restore the health and function of teeth. Periodontal regeneration is aimed to rebuild lost tissue caused by periodontal diseases. With the development in molecular medicine, the technique of periodontal regeneration has been advanced greatly from the use of mechanical barriers to biomimetic materials. This article will review the most recent clinical applications of enamel matrix proteins and growth/differentiation factors in the treatment of periodontal defects from the aspects of evidence-based medicine. The mechanisms, possible effects and other information of these materials will also be discussed
