閱讀原典是研究者的基本功夫，卻也最容易被輕忽。〈通易論〉一文在阮籍諸多作品中最少人重視，它有著儒家思想的色彩，它承襲魏晉「以傳解經」的傳統，在阮籍的學思發展過程中，屬於前期有理想性的作品。本文主要針對阮籍〈通易論〉作文本分析，以《周易》論「變」、經卦詮釋、卦體解說、設問及通達易道來說明〈通易論〉想表達的易變及易道--即「應時當務」以面對易變，並知「存亡進退」以守易道。再進一步闡述「道自然」及「獨立不懼，遯世無悶」的哲學思想。最後為〈通易論〉作出個人的評價。

To read the text is the first step for a researcher, but mostly be neglected. “On Understanding of Yi” written by Ruan Ji is paid few attention by the people among many Ruan Ji’s works. It is full of Confucianism and follows the tradition of “To Explain Yi by Yi-Zuan” at the Dynasty of Wei-Jin. It belongs to the earlier works with ideals nature in Ruan Ji’s learning and philosophy career. Primarily the study is an analysis on the text of Ruan Ji’s “On Understanding of Yi”. There are five parts to express the Change and the Tau of Yi , e.g.," Zhou- Yi "is “Change”, The explanation of Jing-Gua, The explanation of Gua-Tee, Questions, Way to Tau. How to face the Change of Yi? It shows us to do what should be done on the right time. How to keep the Tau of Yi? It tells us to know when should live or die and when should promote or retire. It further explains “The Way to Zi-Ran” and ' “No Fear of Being Alone and No Worry about Being Retired.” Finally, the writer gives a personal appraisal for “On Understanding of Yi”.
