The global financial crisis occurred on 2008-2009 impacted nearly all countries over the world. The crisis happened firstly due to break a contract by real estate loan, and the banks with a chain reaction and cumulative forces to many industries. To understand the workers anxiety extent after the global financial crisis, we survey the HMS scores for the workers of catering industry when they came hospital for routine health check-up. Forty-seven workers engaged in catering industry on northern Taiwan were recruited in this study. We also survey 48 adults other than catering industry visited only for health check-up. The basic data of catering industry workers were as follows: (1) Age: 39.4±7.9 (mean ± SD) years old; (2) Gender: male 24 (51%), female 23 (49%); (3) Occupational duration: ≤5 years:13 (28%), 6-10 years :21 (44%), ≥11 years: 13 (28%). The finding of the study showed that the mean HMS scores were higher (23.9±4.7) in the catering industry worker than the control group (16.9±0.9) with P-value<0.001. The anxiety level of catering industry worker were located in mild-moderate anxiety category 20 (43%) and moderate-severe anxiety 22 (47%), while the anxiety level of control group located in mild anxiety: 27 (56%) & mild-moderate anxiety: 15 (31%). The results revealed there was significant difference in anxiety of the catering industrial workers comparing with control group.
