群經之作，典雅謹嚴，《左傳》之文，浮夸侈華，皆後生文章之楷模，百代學士之典範也。尤以《左傳》之博古記史，廣羅前言，更是後世散文之宗，駢體之祖。故南士愛之甚篤，動輒摹擬，或學其筆鋒，或用其事類。故辭必徵實，文不踏空，郁郁乎江左之馥芳，南士之才氣。因論之焉！一曰：《左傳》稽古徵實，用典之先聲；二曰：《左傳》宏博詳盡，用典之寶庫；三曰：成雙排偶之句，營麗之前驅；四曰：長敘廣敷之詞，鋪采之始祖。古人云：「辭尚體要，弗惟好異。」故略事說明，以之為提要焉！

As a classic of Chinese literature, Zuo Zhuan is the excellent text of historical chronology which is composed of multiple fields and therefore it exerts a great influence on later generations of scholars. On the other hand, as a model of annalistic style, Zuo Zhuan mainly displays a narrative literature in which the construction of artistic beauty is ubiquitous. Consequently, this kind of prose has become a trend in Nan Dynasty and everyone attempted to imitate the style of writing. Moreover, all sections of Zuo Zhuan are full of aesthetics and philosophy of life; they show the great talent further that the writers had in Nan dynasty. For all the above mentioned reasons that I will provide the four main futures of Zuo Zhuan: First, it developed meaningful content which exploited many well-mined sources. Second, it is full of literary allusions that have been influencing the scholars from generation to generation. Third, it is a model of parallel prose. The last one, it built a steady foundation with its description as a masterpiece of narrative literature. According to the saying of an ancient litterateur, "Ci shang tiyao, fuwei haoyi." I wrote this brief summary to help the reader gain a better overview of this article.
