〈韓朋賦〉本事產生時間不可考，但早在漢代已廣為流傳，許多書籍也相繼收錄，歷經時代變遷流傳，不少文人又雜揉浪漫想像，加以化用創作，使故事更加哀惋動人。《搜神記》「韓憑妻」在原傳說基礎上添加許多情節，顯見其敷衍痕跡，已大抵粗具小說結構；敦煌本〈韓朋賦〉則善加鋪敘前因後果，使人物形象、對話更顯生動，並加入幻化想像情節，成為充滿民間文學特色的俗賦。兩者雖然體裁不同，份量不同，故事梗概卻有基本類近處。筆者希望能在眾多文本中聚焦此兩者，先彰顯〈韓朋賦〉所代表的民間俗賦特性，其中的歌謠俗諺皆來自民間，有語言通俗，活潑善變，生動樸拙，容易流傳的特質，有別於筆記小說與傳統文人賦。再進一步從文人書面創作與民間口頭流傳角度，細部比較兩者歧異之處，最後藉以凸顯〈韓朋賦〉故事變形之文化意義。〈韓朋賦〉情味雋永，歷經傳衍、疊加，情節單元再套單元，不斷幻形衍化，已與原始傳說相差甚多。其中蘊含著基層迂迴對抗暴政掠奪之民間意識，也投射人們對真實愛情的同情與期待，甚或望治心切，充滿沈痛的與控訴，雖未必具備文人標準軌範的行筆與鋪采摛文的水準，但卻在字裡行間流露來自民間鮮活俚俗的語言特質與奮發激昂的生命力。
