本文首先探討我國教師專業證照之現況，然後從我國「醫師專業證照」的現況探討對我國「教師專業證照」之啟示，並進一步探討在我國實施「教師專業證照更新」的實施策略，包括「建立證照更新的修法程序、辦理證照更新的機構、辦理證照更新的經費、證照更新的條件與進階方式、證照更新的流程、證照更新與其他相關配套」等六個層面，以期繼續改進我國的教師專業證照制度，朝建構完整的教師專業證照制度邁進，以有效提升教師的專業水準與專業形象。
