許多文獻報告指出Antegonisal notch深的人有以下特徵：較大的SN-GoGn夾角、較大的Gonial angle、較長的下顏面高度、較深的ramus notch、顏面軸向較垂直、下顎骨體的生長量較小、發育較差的傾向（corpus length、remus hight、mandibular length較短）、較為後縮的下顎骨體、下顎骨明顯順時針旋轉，屬於垂直生長特徵、齒列顯示較深的curve of Spec、較傾斜的咬合平面等。本實驗採用60位未曾接受矯正治療之男女性的側顱X光片，分析其Antegonial notch和ramus notch的深度與下顎旋轉的相關性，結果發現兩者與SN-GoGn、SN-Palatal、Palatal-GoGn、Gonial angle等無相關連(P>0.05)，與Y-axis角度有關(P<0.05)，男性有較深的antegonial notch，而ramus notch的深度在男女兩組則無差異。結論：單是利用Antegonial notch或是ramus notch的型態並不足以預測下顎骨的旋轉方向。

In recent years, some researchers have reported that the depth of the mandibular antegonial notch is related with mandibular rotation and higher the lower facial height. However, the data for those studies were derived from populations with extreme morphologic characteristics. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate whether the depth of antegonial notch and ramus notch are related to the mandibular rotation. Lateral cephalometric radiographs were obtained from 30 males and 30 females with cervical vertebral maturation (CVM) at 5 and 6 stage. Correlation analysis revealed that the depth of antegonial notch and ramus notch both with SN-GoGn, SN-Palatal, Palatal-GoGn and Gonial angle not are connected (P>0.05), with Y-axis angle related (P<0.05), the male has deeper antegonial notch than female, but the ramus notch depth does not have the difference in the male and female groups. We concluded that the depth of antegonial notch and ramus notch fails to provide sufficient indication of mandibular rotation.
