垂直牙根斷裂(vertical root fracture)是臨床上常見但卻是難以診斷的問題，因為其臨床特徵常和牙周疾病引起的症狀或失敗的根管治療相似而引起困擾。垂直牙根斷裂(vertical root fracture)多半常見於接受根管治療後的牙齒，但近年來也有報告指出垂直牙根斷裂(vertical root fracture)發生在未接受過根管治療的牙齒。本文藉由文獻回顧，並提出病例報告，希望提供牙醫師在面對此類問題時處置的參考。

Vertical root fracture is a common clinical problem but it is difficult to diagnose. its clinical characteristics are similar with periodontal diseases or failure of root canal treatment. Vertical root fracture is most common in teeth received root canal therapy, but in recent years the re have been reports that vertical root fracture occurred in nonendodontically teeth. With this literature review and case report, we hope to provide dentists a guide to dispose of such issues.
