Rosemary Radford Ruether has been a pioneering Christian feminist theologian for the last four decades. She analyzes and criticizes the patriarchal sexism in Christian traditional theology systematically.Applying the methodology of feminist theology that she developed, Ruether has reconstructed Christian theological tradition which produces her own feminist systematic theology. Her feminist methodology employs a three-fold process of critique and reconstruction: firstly, to show how Christian theology in all its theological symbols has been shaped by misogyny and the negation of women; secondly, to explore alternative traditions for a more inclusive theology; then, to develop a reconstruction of the fundamental Christian symbols of God, creation,anthropology, good and evil, Christology, church, and salvation. Herpurpose in doing this is to overcome androcentrism.
