網路對醫療服務效能的提升已被證實。然而，同樣在醫療服務領域中扮演重要的角色，醫務社會工作專業人員在實務上透過網路使用增進服務效能的相關議題討論卻付之闕如。本文旨在初步探討醫務社會工作專業人員的網路使用情形以為爾後醫務社會工作專業面對網路時代，其在實務發展上之參考。透過相關文獻的回顧，討論包含醫務社會工作專業人員透過網路所進行的資料搜尋、互動討論與溝通及線上專業服務等議題，也統整論述網路使用在醫務社會工作實務上的影響並提出相關建議。結論強調網路使用或能提升醫務社會工作專業人員的服務效能，但關鍵因素是其本身對於網路及線上操作的技巧與能力。醫務社會工作專業人員需改變態度以接受網路使用的優點並躍進網路與資訊科技的世界中。只有當其本身能充分了解網路使用在實務工作上的優勢並讓自己處於準備好的狀態，如此才能藉由網路使用增進實務工作上的專業能力並改善服務品質。

The Internet has the potential for effective and efficient health care delivery. Social work profession has an equal role with other professions in health care.However, the studies on Internet use of social workers in health care are lacking. By reviewing related literature, this paper discusses the Internet use of social workers in health care. The discussion covers issues including access to online information, network interact and communication and online health care social work services. It also includes a discussion of Internet can or can’t do for social work practice in health care and look ahead to some issues that the growth of the Internet poses for them. It is hoped to be the basis of future
professional development of social work profession in health care in the Internet era. Despite that Internet use maybe useful for social work practice in health care, the skills and abilities of these workers on Internet activities and online practice could be the key determinants. It is timely for social workers in health care to change attitudes to accept Internet advantages and get ready to make the leap to the Internet world and information technologies. Only can social workers take advantage of what is available and question the lack of Internet use and be in a position to properly apply it to improve their professional competences in practice and then the service quality.
