近年來隨著人口結構老化及社會型態的改變，使得傳統家庭養兒防老的功能逐漸減弱。在敬老崇孝固有價值日漸式微的今天，老人們需要面臨更多生活上的適應，而孤單寂寞即是一潛藏的重要議題。本篇特透過文獻查證，說明老人孤寂感的定義、發生率、相關因素、測量工具及相關處置，盼藉此能增進醫護人員對老人孤寂感的瞭解。

With the growing elderly population in the modern society, more elderly seem not to be taken care of by their own families adequately. Moreover, people show less respect to the elderly nowadays in our society. Therefore, the elderly need to adapt these situations in their daily life. Under such a situation, the loneliness of the elderly would be a potential issue. This paper is based on literature review to describe the definition of loneliness, morbidity, related factors, measuring tool and management in the elderly. The information will provide better understanding for nurses about loneliness in the elderly.
