中文摘要

由於電腦網路資訊的發達,英語語料庫已經快速發展且成為英語教學研究和學習上有效的工具,Johns (1988, 1991)主張老師扮演協調者的角色,指導學生成為研究者從語料庫主動發現語言的用法。語料庫為英文寫作開創了新的局面,因它能增強學生的學習能力。在本研究中,學生在老師的指導下使用英語搭配詞線上檢索系統,從中分析英語語料庫中的資料,目的在使學生找出自己寫作上的詞語搭配問題。研究結果顯示學生對於詞彙組合方面的知識不足,語料庫搜尋研究的技術也有待加強,建議加強學生字義分析,語料庫資料分析,以及檢索系統使用等方面的能力。

英文摘要

Corpora have been recognized as a powerful tool for second and foreign language teaching and learning. Johns (1988, 1991) advocates the use of corpora for data-driven learning in which the teacher assumes the role of coordinator of student-initiated research and the learner is view as a researcher to discover the language by themselves. The empowering function of corpora opens a new door for the teaching and learning of EFL writing. This study investigates how data-driven learning by mean of corpus analysis with online concordancers may raise students‘ awareness of their writing problems in the aspect of word combination under the guidance of the teacher. The research results reveal incompleteness in the students‘ phraseological knowledge and deficient corpus searching skills and suggest deliberate training on componential analysis of lexical meanings, interpretive skills of corpus data, and searching skills with concordancers.
