本研究旨於將數值高程模型資料運用於地形測繪模式模擬相關研究,並與其他相關數值高程資料配合,從其中萃取出專題製圖所需的參數資訊。所有參數的測算值係藉核型方曲面與數值高程資料互相匹配並取其適量而得;惟因該核型具可變異性,故不同比例尺的地形資訊亦可藉以萃取。其次,利用均方根求解誤差值,並將其展繪為影像圖檔,以展現及驗證方曲面與實際數值高程資料互相匹配的具體成效。最後,這些參數資訊也可依地形特性來產生主題影像圖,並以三維表面視覺化呈顯的方式,將網格式數值高程模型所產生的影像圖覆蓋於地形高程資料上,讓資料產生三維模擬飛行的功能,並可讓飛行路徑變得更生動活潑,突顯專題製圖成效。

英文摘要

In this study we use Topographic Modeling on USGS DEM data and other digital elevation data to generate lambertian (shaded relief) surfaces, and to extract parametric information, including slope, aspect, and various convexities and curvatures. All of the parameters are calculated by fitting a quadratic surface to the digital elevation data for the entered kernel size and taking the appropriate derivatives. The kernel size can also be changed so that multi-scale topographic information can be extracted. A root mean square (RMS) error image is also generated, which indicates how well the quadratic surface fits the actual digital elevation data. Finally, the parametric information is also used to create thematic images for mapping topographic features. The raster DEMs may be also used to derive complementary topographic data sets including a topographic classification image. The raster DEM is also required for draping imagery onto topographic elevation data using the 3-D Surface View.
