過動膀胱症爲一常見於中老年人的下泌尿道疾病，其主要的病理生理原因爲膀胱在充填期迫尿肌不自主的收縮。臨床主要表徵爲頻尿、急尿、有或無合併急迫性尿失禁。西藥治療此病以抗乙酸膽鹼藥物爲主，但口乾便秘的副作用常影響其在臨床上的應用。本研究以傅統中醫複方補中益氣湯合桑螵蛸散治療過動膀胱症爲期4週，根據1997-2001年間國際認同之膀胱症狀旅重度評估標凖及病人排尿日誌記錄，結果顯示本複方治療過動膀胱症，封補改善排尿次數、尿急、尿失禁、排尿量的增加，以及生活品質，均有統計學上的意羲。此外服用本複方副作用甚少，除口乾外，其安全性及患者的接受度佳。

Overactive bladder is a very common old-age lower urinary tract disease. The main pathophysiology is involuntary detrusor muscle contracture during bladder filling phase. Frequency, urgency, and with or without urge incontinence are main clinical manifestations. Overactive bladder treatment anti-acetylcholinergic agents are the mainstay of therapy. The side effects of dry mouth and constipation often influenced its clinical application. In this study, we used traditional Chinese formulas (Bu-Zhong-Yi-Qi-Tang, Sang-Piao-Xiao-San) to treat patients with overactive bladder for four weeks, and compare its efficacy according documented international assessment standard of urinary symptoms severity in 1997-2001 and patients voiding diary record. Results demonstrated that the formulas treated overactive bladder significantly improved the frequency of voiding, urgency and urge incontinence as well as increased the voiding volume and quality of life. Besides, the formulas is seldom side effect except dry of mouth, and it’s security and patients toleration are well.
