本文探索的不是台灣神學院校與中國大陸神學院校的互動，而是較廣泛的海外華人教會和神學院與中國大陸教會和神學院的互動，文中有好些想法是取自香港的，這是我最熟悉的地區。我對中國大陸的教會情況略有一點知識，對台灣情況便僅知其皮毛，尤其面對著參與和主導台灣教會發展的你們，乾脆承認自己無知是最安全的做法。（編按：研討會原訂題目為：「兩岸神學教育交流的契機與限制」）

With aid from overseas churches, the Christian churches in China have beenexperiencing rapid growth in the past 30 years. Overseas Chinese churches have beenactively participating especially on areas like leadership training and theologicaleducation in both Three-self churches and house churches, though the effect of suchwas not always positive. With increasing number of Mainland Chinese emigrants,the overseas Chinese communities are undergoing massive demographical changes,and so affect overseas churches. By now almost all of the Chinese seminaries, exceptfor those in Hong Kong and Taiwan, have already become training centers forMainlanders. It is thus foreseeable that Chinese emigrants would play a predominantrole in the future development of overseas Chinese communities and Chinesechurches. Chinese churches from all over the world, while participating actively in theministry in China, would have to be prepared to encounter the new era of China,adjusting their respective role and mission.
