媽祖信仰習俗在兩岸的共同努力下，已於2009年9月30日成功列入聯合國「人類非物質文化遺產代表作名錄」，媽祖文化的傳播和繼承也因此更具有歷史性的重大意義。本文藉由媽祖信仰中所含攝的儒家精神，詮釋二者間的互動關係，並呈現媽祖文化與時俱進的時代意義。媽祖神德是儒家仁愛德行的另類呈現，同時媽祖的信仰結構體系也反映著儒家思想的等級倫理。從這個意義上思考，媽祖信仰習俗之所以歷久不衰，正因為承載了「活」的中華文化生命力，也必將以其文化輻射，在未來社會展現其獨特的魅力。

The Mazu belief and customs practices the philosophy of benevolence and love and is an important representation of Chinese religious belief. Behind such belief culture, it is the Chinese national spirit featured by Confucianism. Through the research of Mazu belief, the core notion and value of Chinese religion and culture can be analyzed.
