「演奏藝術家」在李斯特(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886 )的年代慢慢脫離身兼作曲家身分, 而在20世紀獨立發展成一種蓬勃新興的音樂職業。20世紀以前,人們談到天才音樂神童,基 本上是指在作曲上有奇特天賦的孩童,20世紀以後,天才兒童這個名稱開始被放在有演奏天賦 的孩子身上。大眾帶著羨暮和崇拜之情觀看演奏台上的人物,但是一個世紀以来,人們對演奏 家的藝術養成過程和演奏家的内在思想及美學觀並沒有太深入的瞭解。音樂研究者沉醉於過往 作曲家的音樂裡,無暇顧及這個區塊’人文科學的研究者礙於缺乏音樂專業訓練’亦難以深入 研究此新興行業。演奏藝術家如同水中悠遊之魚,人們只能在橋上觀望其矯健之身影,卻極難 從中明瞭魚的樂與悲。21世紀的今天,何不讓我們化身為莊子,走進演奏藝術家的世界,明暸他們的藝術,經由 個人的體會說出他們的音樂與人生,讓藝術家走過的路,像一面明鏡啟發和指引著後人的腳步。
本文從藝術家和音樂演奏藝術的特質,得知對演奏藝術家進行研究,必須深入探討藝術家 之藝術形成淵源和個人的生命歷程;從人對「人」的研究歷史和社會科學研究在哲學上建立的 理論基礎,探討出「生命史」研究的特質、内容和優點正符合上述研究的需求,因此得到「生 命史」在演奏藝術家的研究上有其可行性與重要性之結論。

英文摘要

“Music Performing Artist” is a new and rising musical profession which gradually departed from being a composer and a performer at the same time after the era of Franz Liszt (1811-1886), developed independently in the 20th century. Before the 20th century, when people talked about musical prodigy, basically they were talking about children who have a unique talent on composing. After the 20th century, the word “prodigy” began to be given to the children who have a performing talent. People often admire and adore those who are on the performing stages. However, during this century, people still do not develop deeper understandings about the fostering process and inner thoughts of the performers. The musical researchers are intoxicated in the music composed by past composers and could not pay attention to this new profession. The researchers of Humanities can't study it deeply either because of the lack of the professional training of music. The performing artists are like fish swimming under the water, and people can only watch their vigorous shape on the bridge but hardly understand the joy and sadness of fish.
Today in the 21st century, why don’t we become Zhuang-Zi and go into the performing artists, world to understand their art, and let them speak out their music and life through personal experience, so that the way they walk through can become a mirror to inspire and guide the next generations
From learning the characteristics of the artists and of musical performing art, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth research on the origin of the formation of performing art and the personal life course of the performing artist. We can explore the characteristics, the content, and the merits of life history research in line with the above requirements from the research on people to people by observing the history and the theoretical basis of social science research built upon philosophy. Therefore, it is concluded that there are feasibility and importance of life history research on musical performing artists.
