There were no historical Indian Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis, IBE) sightings in Datun Volcano Group in northern Taiwan. The first IBE sighting was recorded near Danshui in Datun Volcano Group in 2005 and a dozen IBE sightings have been reported in the area since then. The
author concluded that a small number of IBEs seemed to have resided in Datun Volcano Group and provided insights on IBE distribution and potential population sources.
