The commercial transport aircraft sometimes encounter hazardous
weathers, such as severe atmospheric turbulence, wind shear in landing
phase, etc. In these situations, the dynamic aerodynamic effects are very
significant. Obviously, the tabulated data in conventional flight simulators
doesn’t have sufficient databases to simulate dynamic aerodynamic
responses to the hazardous weather conditions. The technique of fuzzy-logic
modeling (FLM) is used to establish nonlinear unsteady aerodynamic
models. The models can develop the first-order and second-order dynamic
derivatives with dynamic aerodynamic effects to unify the proposed
quasi-nonlinear models. A jet transport encountered severe atmospheric
turbulence is a practical case for the present study. The aerodynamic
databases of conventional flight simulator to be improved by the proposed
quasi-nonlinear models will be presented in this paper.
