過去論及臺港文學，一般認為香港文學深受臺灣文學影響。事實上，五○年代的臺港作家，詩人過從甚密。香港文學在現代主義的介紹上，確實深刻地引導了臺灣的詩壇。五、六○年代不少知名香港作家來臺求學，其中以葉維廉同時創作、評論與介紹理論最為活躍，對臺灣、香港兩地文學跨區域傳播，有相當大的貢獻。本研究將針對葉維廉青年時期，在兩地引介三、四○年代現代主義詩學與作品，率先介紹與推廣新批評與超現實主義美學，協助《創世紀》詩刊在臺、港現代主義詩學發展上能夠獨樹一幟，進行文學史料的耙梳、整理與探討。

In retrospect, it was generally considered that Hong Kong was deeply
affected by Taiwan in the field of belles lettres. As a matter of fact, there
had been close interaction between Hong Kong and Taiwanese writers in the
1950s. However, it was Hong Kong literature that profoundly led and
guided Taiwanese poetry in the introduction of modernism. Quite a few
famous Hong Kong writers came to Taiwan during 50s and 60s. Among
them, Yip Wai-lim (葉維廉), who wrote, reviewed and introduced theories,
was the most active. Yip did contribute significantly to the cross-regional
literary dissemination. Taking a close look at Yip's early critical essays and
related literary documents, this study focuses on recapturing Yip’s visionary
efforts in introducing and promoting modernist poetry, new criticism, and
surrealist aesthetics during the 30s and 40s.
