中文摘要

自2011年起,國內大學評鑑將以「學生學習成效導向」為主軸,教師勢必要投注心力,改善教學品質,以提升學生學習成效。另一方面,各大學對教師的評估及升等要求愈來愈高,教師莫不卯足全力從事學術研究。在教學與研究兩方力量拉扯下,大學教師苦不堪言。本研究旨在探討:一、如何協助未受過教育專業訓練的大學教師,改善教學品質,提升學習成效?二、對教學有興趣的大學教師,如何另闢蹊徑,兼顧教學與學術研究?「教與學的學術」或許是個解答,它一方面可協助改進教學成效,另一方面可發展學術研究,將教學與研究合一。全文先說明國內外大學提升教學品質的作法,其次闡述大學教與學的學術,而後評析大學教與學的學術,接著說明國外落實大學教與學學術的實例與成效,最後對重要關係者提出建議。

英文摘要

College professors are under great pressure to perform well on teaching and research in order to meet the criteria for faculty review and promotion. This study intends to investigate solutions to improve teaching quality as well as balance teaching and research. Scholarship of teaching and learning is probably the answer. This paper first introduces strategies for improving teaching at home and abroad, next explains the emerging trend of scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), further analyzes and comments on SoTL, then offers an example of implementing lesson study to improve teaching quality and promote SoTL, and finally provides stakeholders with suggestions to adopting SoTL in Taiwan.
