本研究以臺中縣市的 10 所大專院校學生為研究對象,探討大專院校學生的英語學習現況以及對英語學習環境之重視度與滿意度,並比較不同的背景變項在英語學習成效和學習環境感受上的差異。研究結果顯示: 1. 大專院校學生對於學習環境的滿意度以「老師的教學態度」最高,以「提升學習成效」最低。 2. 外文系學生不管是英文能力或是對學習環境的滿意度與重視度皆明顯高於其他各系。 3. 性別和學系的不同,會影響學生學習成效的表現;而不同的年級和學校則會影響滿意度與重視度的高低。 4. 一般大學學生在學習環境的滿意度及重視度顯著高於科技大學及技術學院。

英文摘要

The purpose of this study was to explore college students' perception of their English learning environment. The target sample was randomly drawn from ten colleges in the Taichung area. We also compared the differences in students' English learning behaviors and their attitudes toward the English learning environment based on a variety of factors. The findings of this study are as follows: 1. The college students surveyed reported highest satisfaction in the category “the teacher's teaching attitude,” and least in the category “improving learning outcome.” 2. The students in the department of foreign languages showed higher satisfaction and more positive attitude regarding the English learning environment than those in other departments. 3. The English learning performance among the students surveyed showed significant differences by gender and by department. Moreover, the students showed differences in their satisfaction and attitudes about the English learning environment. 4. The students of comprehensive universities reported higher satisfaction and more positive attitude regarding the learning environment than those of universities of technology and technical colleges.
