目的：本研究目的在探討停經婦女的人口學屬性、生活型態及生理因子輿憂鬱嚴重度的相關性。
方法：人口學屬性、生活型態變項及自主神經功能等資料取自一探討呼吸訓練計畫對併有憂鬱症狀之停經婦女 心理輿自主神經功能成效之前瞻性隨機臨床試驗。共有94位停經滿12個月且貝克憂鬱量表（BDI-II )得 分10分（含）以上的婦女納入分析。
結果：此94位45〜64歲的研究對象平均年齡56.32歲，BDI-II分數介在10〜57分之間，平均20.50分，第25個百分 位分數爲12.00分，第75個百分位分數爲26.00分，有亞臨床性憂鬱者共64人（68.10%)。人口學屬性及自 主神經功能之各參數輿BDI-II得分無顯著相關（所有尸>0.05 );在憂鬱低分組輿高分組間無統計上的顯著 差異；輿亞臨床憂鬱亦無顯著相關（所有尸>0.05)。
結論：婦女停經後的憂鬱症狀可能輿其人口學屬性或自主神經功能無關，未來研究需要針對停經後憂鬱的機轉 做更進一步的深入探討。

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine demographic and physiological factors associated with the severity of depressive symptoms in postmenopausal women.
Methods:Baseline data, including demographics, lifestyles variables, and autonomic function from a prospective randomized controlled trial examining the efficacy of a breathing training program on psychosocial and autonomic function in postmenopausal women with depressive symptoms were analyzed. Included in the analyses were 94 women who reported cessation of menstrual cycles for more than 12 consecutive months and scored 10 or greater on the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II).
Results: The mean of ninety-four participants aged from 45 to 64 was 56.32 years. The mean BDI-II score, ranging from 10 to 57, was 20.50 with inter-quartile range 12.00 to 26.00, and 64 participants (68.10%) were grouped into subclinical depression. The BDI-II score in postmenopausal women was unrelated to the demographic characteristics and parameters of autonomic function (all p > 0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in either the BDI-II groups or women with/without subclinical depression (allp > 0.05).
Conclusion: Depressive symptoms in postmenopausal women may be unrelated to women’s demographic factors and autonomic function. The mechanisms of postmenopausal depression warrant further investigation.
