本研究分析設計系所學生人格特質的調節作用對其想像力和創造力產生的影響,並驗證想像力在人格特質和創造力之間可能扮演的中介角色。研究團隊採集國立、私立、大學、科大等不同體系學校,共511份有效樣本,以驗證性因素分析確認各量表因素向度,並以結構方程模式建立變項間之預測模型。本研究發現,開放、和諧與神經質等人格特質最能預測設計系所學生的創始想像、轉造想像、原創性創造力和實用性創造力;而開放、審慎與和諧則最能預測其構思想像。和諧與神經質的交互作用對三種想像力和實用性創造力都有顯著的調節效果,外向與神經質的交互作用則對原創性創造力具有調節效果。創始想像對原創性創造力有潛在的影響,而構思及轉造想像則會潛在影響實用性創造力。

英文摘要

Using design majors as a sample, this study analyzes the joint effects of personality traits on student creativity and imaginative ability, and tests the mediator role of imaginative ability between personality traits and creativity. A total of 511 students at 6 universities across Taiwan participated in the study. We used confirmatory factor analysis to test the factorial validity of the scales, and used structural equation modeling to establish the predictive models for this study. We found that openness to experience exerts the strongest effects on initiating imagination, transforming imagination, originality in creativity, and usefulness in creativity, followed by agreeableness and neuroticism. In contrast, openness to experience, conscientiousness, and agreeableness are the most influential personality traits affecting conceiving imagination. The joint effects of agreeableness and neuroticism are significant on three types of imaginative ability and usefulness in creativity. The joint effect of extraversion and neuroticism is significant on originality in creativity. Initiating imagination exerts an effect on originality in creativity, whereas conceiving imagination and transforming imagination exert effects on usefulness in creativity.
