小說空間與人物的關係，一般研究主要從外界向人物心理的角度，發掘作品 描寫的象徵和主題。事實上，人物外表和身體的描寫每每影響對外空間的投射， 本文嘗試提出「聚焦身體」的概念，並應用於臺灣都市小說的分析之上。衰老、 衰弱的主人公身體是都市文學的一大特色，這種身體形象影響都市空間的感知， 並展示出作者的態度。本文藉黃凡、林耀德、朱天文和朱天心為主的探討，以圖 窺探台灣都市小說的特點，發掘衰弱身體與都市空間的四種不同類型。

As to the relationship between the fictional space and characters, most of the previous researches focus on the symbols and themes of the literary works. In contrast, this paper argues that the description of characters’ bodies and appearances affects the understanding of the fictional space. By introducing the concept of “the focal body” to help analyze Taiwan urban fiction, it shows that the weakened body of characters, a remarkable feature in the genre, influences authors’ perceptions of urban space and demonstrates their attitudes. This paper investigates Huang Fan, Lin Yaode, Zhu Tianwen and Zhu Tianxin’s urban fiction, and discusses the compositions of weakened bodies with different approaches.
