背景：精神患者多因精神狀態或行為不穩定遭到長期安置，且常因不被重視，而孤獨終老於社會的角落。
目的：探討精神護理之家住民的生活經驗，了解住民主觀所關注之重要生活議題，做為改善與發展照護服務模式之參考，以提昇生活品質。
方法：様本醫院為精神專科教學醫院附設精神護理之家，收案對象為入住超過3年以上，精神狀態相對穩定且經國台語可溝通而願意接受深入訪談者，以現象學研究法深入訪談。資料經由Colaizzi’s分析法，逐一譯碼分析後，達資料飽和止共10位而停止收案。
結果：生活經驗可歸納出四個主題，萃取出十個概念，主題包括：（一）困境：萬般無奈、日落黃昏、習以為常。（ニ）現實：家庭困頓、無盡期待。（三）無助：無家可歸、孤單寂寞。及（四）重生：哀聲歎氣、工作是成就感、心存感激。
結論：多數住民接受並肯定目前的生活，但仍期待能回家或到理想的安養機構度過餘生。因此，如何讓住民感受到家的温暖，是醫療人員最重要的課題。此結果盼能改善與發展照護服務模式之參考，並喚起政府與機構能重視精神護家之生活品質。

Background: Individuals with psychopathic disorders receive long-term nursing care due to their unstable mental or behavioral state. Most die alone and with little notice from society.
Purpose: This study elicits the concerns of psychiatric home residents as a reference for developing a new nursing services model to promote quality of life.
Methods: A phenomenological method was used to conduct in-depth interviews with participants who were recruited from the psychiatric nursing home facility annex of the Psychiatric Teaching Hospital. Criteria for participation included: facility resident for > 3 years, relatively stable mental state, able to communicate in Mandarin or Taiwanese, and willingness to be interviewed. Colaizzi's (1978) phenomenological method analyzed individual participant data. Data collection stopped once complete data on 10 individuals had been collected.
Results: The four themes and ten concepts identified included: (1) dilemma: Have no alternative, Before sunset, Get used to; (2) reality: Poor family, Endless expectation; (3) helplessness: Homelessness, Loneliness; (4) rebirth: Moan and groan, work is a sense of achievement, be thankful.
Conclusions: Most residents accept and approve of their current life, while continuing to anticipate returning home or finding an ideal nursing home situation to spend the rest of their life. Therefore, helping make residents feel at home is a critical task for medical staff. Results may be referenced to further improve and
develop the nursing services model and to draw greater government and institution attention to the quality of life in nursing homes in Taiwan.
