本文利用文獻回顧，探討迷你植體的定義、禁忌症、應用及存活率。迷你植體有以下幾個優點：保護傳統植體、使患者沒有“無齒空窗期”、 較傳統植體費用低廉，可以適用在ridge較窄的患者身上，不需要另外補骨手術，可使用flapless手術，對牙醫師來說臨床操作簡單，讓患者的不適感降到最低，提升患者對牙醫師的信心。迷你植體從暫時性的用途到長期的牙科應用皆可。經過適當評估及擬定良好治療計畫，在患者身上使用迷你植體，可以幫助解決一些原本無法解決的牙科問題。最後附上一個病例說明迷你植體提供下頷全口活動假牙支持及穩定效果。 (J. Family Dent. 8(3): 37-43, 2013)

This review article outlines the indication, contraindication, clinical application, and survival rate of mini dental implants. For prosthodontic treatment, mini-implants shorten edentulous period and protect conventional implants before its osseointegration. In comparison to conventional implants, mini-implants are cheaper and more suitable for narrow ridges. Because bone graft and soft tissue flap are rarely necessary for mini- implants, shorter learning curve for the clinician and less postsurgical discomfort for patients are guaranteed. All of the above make patients more confident to dentists. Mini-implants have been accepted for transitional and long-term use. With adequate evaluation and optimal planning, mini-implant could be treatment of choice for complicated cases. Finally we present a case treated by mini-implants to increase support and retention of lower complete denture. (J. Family Dent. 8(3): 37-43, 2013)
