This research aims to investigate, within theframework of grey relational analysis, the relationsbetween Huwei inhabitants’ cognition of culturalheritage conservation and their community affiliation.After reviewing literature and establishing relatedtheories, the researcher applies the grey relationalanalysis to explore the relations between Huweicommunity inhabitants’ cognition of cultural heritageand community affiliation in 2012. Specifically, thisstudy endeavors to find how inhabitants conceivecultural heritage conservation and to what extent theircognition is related to community affiliation. The dataanalysis shows that there is correlation between culturalheritage conservation and community affiliation. Thecorrelation originates in inhabitants’ affiliation to thetown. Emotional links motivate the inhabitants toconserve cultural heritages belonging to the township.They hope that cultural characteristics may boost thedevelopment of tourism, which may again accelerateeconomic development and provide the inhabitants withmore job opportunities. Most inhabitants also regard ittheir responsibility to conserve and transmit culturalheritage. The present study, which applies the greyrelational analysis to investigate the relations betweenHuwei community inhabitants’ cognition of culturalconservation and community affiliation, can serve as aguide to which government sectors and communityorganizations nay refer in their conservation of culturalheritage.
