輔仁大學醫學院的心理復健系在成立了12 年後，于今年(民國九十三年) 正式改名為臨床心理學系，這個在心理學界引起不少議論的心復系如今變成醫學院的臨床心理學系，相對於其他在理學院的心理系，到底有什麼意義？筆者在心理復健系創系時期就進入該系服務，為紀念改名這件事，藉此機會寫出一些個人對獨立的臨床心理學系在醫學院的意義，以及對臨床心理學系的工作領域、社會責任之淺見。多數大學理學院的心理學系原本是以研究為主旨，當她變為醫學院的一個學系後，她的研究取向固然沒有改變，但更強調了心理與生物、神經科學等跨科系的合作研究。而醫學院各系除了研究外，同等重要的服務工作也是不可忽視的。臨床心理系以宏觀的心理學為基礎，強調人是身心靈的整體，不但要在心理師的養成培育上重視人本的精神，更要影響醫療體系，提升對病人而非僅對疾病的關心。

The author discusses the value of having a department of clinical psychology in the college ofmedicine rather than in the college of sciences. Based on a broader view of psychology in the studyof human beings as a body-psyche-mind holistic person, clinical psychologists should considerthemselves not only to be scientists but also above all to be "health-service providers", and theyshould promote this spirit of holistic care which focuses on the patient as a person and not only ondisease. The different services and responsibilities of clinical psychologists are also brieflydiscussed.
