Fang Yi-Zhi is a renowned poet and thinker in the late Ming and the early Qing Dynasties. He meets Chen Zi-Long in 1632, which initiates his poetic school thoughts. After associating with scholars such as Zhou Qi and Sun Lin, he expands his life experience and knowledge, and establishes the characteristics of the poetic school he founds. His reunion with Qian Cheng-Zhi and Wu De-Cao in Guelin in 1650 marks the end of poetic school development in the Ming Dynasty. The article first explains the background of the naming of the Long-Mian poetic school, and then exemplifies the process of the school's foundation by dividing it into three periods: the Yong Club in Ze Garden, the great gathering in Jinling, and the dispersion of scholars. This exploration provides a special meaning for understanding late Ming poetry history.
