本文為國內外背包客及女性自助旅行之相關文獻探討，主要分為四個部分：1.探討背包客概念化的過程。2.分析自助旅行和半自助旅行的差異性，如何影響女性選擇旅行方式。3.針對自助旅行的特性，提出在自主性、風險承擔及性別差異的迷思。4.女性背包客對旅行真實的建構。國內外研究分別顯示，自我成長及學習是女性自助旅行的動機與目的。

This paper reviews the literatures of the Western and Taiwanese backpacking . By investigating the construction of backpacking characteristics, this paper analyze the model of backpackers, and how the way influence female’s decision. However, what we are calling for in this paper is a pre-study to explore an understanding of how mobility can be used by Taiwanese female backpackers as a matter of choice of constructing their sense of identity and a way to break the stereotype of gender differences in tourism practices.
