本文首先針對休閒及休閒教育之定義,做一概括介紹並界定,俾使未來休閒教育理念之傳播,不致被混淆或誤解。其次,探討休閒教育的內涵,以讓休閒教育的推動有範圍可循。再來點出休閒教育的功能為(1)社會性功能;(2)經濟性功能;(3)家庭性功能;(4)個人性功能;做為休閒教育實務推展的基礎。最後指出休閒教育實施之途徑,以明白其實施機構、施教對象、實施場地、實施時間、及課程內容,期能落實休閒教育之目標。

英文摘要

This article firstly attempts to define leisure and leisure education so that the introduction of its idea will not be confused and misunderstood. Secondly, the connotation of leisure education is explored so as to provide scope for implementation of leisure education.Then the functions of leisure education are illustrated as follows: (1) social function; (2) economical function; (3) family function; and (4) individual function in order to offer basis to execution of the practice of leisure education. Finally, I indicate the implementing approaches of leisure education so as to realize the institution, place, and time of implementation, the subjects of instruction, and the contents of curriculum. Hopefully, the aim of leisure education would be carried out.
