本研究旨在探討，在風險的社會建構過程中，新聞媒體所扮演的角色。分析聯合報1988年至2010年間，以氣候變遷、溫室效應為標題的新聞論述。本研究發現，氣候風險議題在聯合報的風險現形過程，呈現出不同時期由不同類型的消息來源者主導風險論述的現象，如此亦反映出風險定義和社會建構是透過一種動態的論述競爭過程來完成。藉此反思，新聞論述作為建構風險的社會建構機制，不應僅被視為是傳遞風險的傳播管道，更應被視為是容納各種風險論述的公共競技場。

This study aims to reinterpret the role of mainstream news on theprocess of climatic risk constructing. With critical discursive analysisapproach, researchersanalyzed148 UDN’s climatic risk news. Thestudyfinds that climatic risk issues were influenced by different type agents indifferentperiods.It suggests that public knowledge about climatic risk isconstructed dynamically. This research result different fromsocialconstructionist viewpoint that tend to explain media would createhomogenous influence on publics. To be opposite,mainstream newsdiscourses construct imaginations and social cognitions of climatic risk inmultipleandpromiscuous ways. This conclusion would also supportresearchers to makea critical argument, that is: the media study issignificant to risk research and it would be also important for socialscientist to understandthe complex construction of risk society.
