瞿曇寺為明初宮廷在安多(Amdo)地區所贊助的最重要的藏傳寺院。透過實地調查與文獻比對,本文識讀出其第一個大殿――瞿曇殿――描 繪了一個完整的、以《毘盧幻化網續》(梵:Māyājāla-tantra;藏:rNam snang sgyu dra’i rgyud,東北No. 466)為根本經典的「文殊金剛43尊曼荼羅」。這是這個罕見的法門第一次在安多地區被識讀出來,其配制方式到目前為止在藏文化圈也堪稱孤例。透過此法門在漢、藏兩地傳播的考察,本文不僅揭示了我們過去對15世紀初密法在安多地區所傳情況所不知的一面,也開啟了我們對明宮廷密法傳播的史實更進一步研究的契機。

英文摘要

Qutansi 瞿曇寺 (Tib: Gro tshang rdo rje ‘chang) was the most magnificent monastery sponsored by Ming 明 court in A mdo in early-Ming period. Based on the work of the field exploration and the canon comparison, the author recognized that a complete 43-deity Mañjuvajra mandala, whose root tantra is Māyājāla-tantra (Tib: rNam snang sgyu dra’i rgyud. Toh. No. 466), had been painted on the walls of Qutan Hall 瞿曇殿, the first hall of the tree main ones. This is the first time that the rare teaching has been known appearing in A mdo region. Its layout was unique even in wide-ranged Tibetan cultural area. Through studying the propagation of the teaching in Han-China 漢地 and Tibet, the author not only revealed one portion of the propagation of esoteric Buddhism in A mdo in early-15th century that we’ve never known before, but also lead a path to further study for the history of the propagation of esoteric Buddhism in Ming court.
