支援全校師生的教學與研究需求向來是大學圖書館責無旁貸的任務,然而綜觀國內外各大學圖書館紛紛面臨經費逐年遞減的窘境,嚴重侵蝕圖書館書刊經費的採購以及整體的經營與發展。因此為了將有限經費用在刀口上,評估並檢視現有的館藏資源強弱與缺失已是迫在眉睫的重要任務。本文作者以中興大學2012年自然及工程等相關學科的師生投稿SCI期刊論文所引用的參考書目文獻為研究標的,分析中興大學圖書館核心期刊支援全校師生教學研究的程度。研究結果發現:一、核心期刊館藏的使用率高於非核心期刊館藏;二、核心期刊館藏在支援本校師生的教學研究程度遠高於非核心期刊館藏。核心期刊的使用率以及支援校內師生研究程度均高於非核心期刊,顯示現階段核心館藏發展策略符合使用者需求。

英文摘要

Supporting faculty research is one of the most crucial commitments of an academiclibrary. However, public funding for higher education continues to decrease, seriouslyeroding the libraries’ purchasing power, as well as its general operation and development.Therefore, the evaluation of current resources and collections becomes an urgentlyimportant issue. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the core journalcollections of the library effectively support research for the National Chung HsingUniversity (NCHU) faculty. A citation analysis of journal papers published by scienceand engineering faculty in 2012 was used to assess the question. Our finding revealsthat firstly, the usage of core-journals is much higher than non-core-journals. Secondly,it indicates that core-journals support faculty research more effectively than non-corejournalsin the cited references for articles published by NCHU faculty.
