開放式課程（Open course ware, OCW）是1999年美國麻省理工學院（MIT）於教育科技會議上提出的知識分享計畫，2002年聯合國教科文組織的國際會議論壇（UNESCO's Forum）中亦提出開放教育資源（Open Educational Resources）概念，主要將高品質的教材與資源組織成數位教材，以無償及開放授權方式，於網路資源公開，供大眾分享與學習，包含使用、改編與再使用（臺灣開放式課程聯盟，2014）。而翻轉教室（Flipped classroom）的教育概念緣起於2007年，美國科羅拉多州林地公園高中（Woodland Park High School）化學教師Jon Bergmann與Aaron Sams，為解決學生缺課進度問題，開始使用螢幕擷取軟體錄製PowerPoint簡報與講解旁白，並將預錄影片上傳YouTube網站，讓學生自行上網瀏覽學習；而後發現此模式具有成效，更進一步讓學生先在家以影片瀏覽來做課程之預習，再於課堂以互動學習方式讓學生完成作業或任務，同時也提供學習困難者相關問題之解惑，此亦獲得良好回應，從而蔚為教學風潮。研究者本身擔任音樂學系中等教育師資之培育工作已屆廿年，常思索如何以更具效益之方式，提升學生音樂教育之概念與實務能力，近年有機會接觸所任教大學刻正推廣之開放式課程，也聆聽數場有關翻轉課室之講座，究竟兩者關聯性及區隔性為何？再者對現場教師運用之準則與面對之挑戰為何？本研究由「優游於奏鳴曲式」之課程美學觀起始，就開放式課程與翻轉教室之理念與相關研究加以探析，並以「課程的公開與分享機制」、「課程的設計與執行策略」、及「課程的檢核、調整與支持措施」等三個層面，分別探討音樂師培課程結合開放式課程與翻轉教室理念之思維與作法，作為實施中學音樂教育師資培育之參考。

“OpenCourseWare”, OCW, was a proposal about knowledge sharing from the educational technology conference held by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999.
