英文摘要

Numerical simulation of the natural convection heat transfer in a square rectangular containing air and cold water separated by a complete partition is performed. The temperature boundary conditions are established with a prescribed hot temperature 8°C at the left vertical wall and a prescribed cold temperature 0°C at the right vertical wall. On the other hand, the two horizontal walls are adiabatic. Results have been obtained for different Rayleigh numbers (103Raw106) and location of the partition (0.25c0.75). The dimensionless thickness of the partition ε is set to be 0.1. Two cases are studied:Case I, air-partition-cold water and Case II, cold water-partition-air. Result indicates that when value of location of the partition is increased to 0.75 from 0.25 the increase in heat transfer is 135% for Raw=105 in Case II.
