王建是中唐著名的詩人。可是新舊唐書並未為王建立傳，而且關於他的生平資料很少，事跡毫無系統地散見於《唐詩記事》《唐才子傳》和《全唐詩》采錄《唐詩英華》所編寫的王建小傳之中，以致世人對王建其人及其在文學史上的貢獻就相對的缺乏認識。而本文以主題式的呈現方法，分三個重要的人生階段來描述，即：三十歲前之游學生活、三十一歲至四十四歲之從軍經歷和四十五歲以後至六十幾歲之官場生涯。

Wang Chien is a well-known poet of the medium Tang dynasty. However, the history books about Tang’s Dynasty were made no mention of him. There are few concerning him. His experience could be seen in Wang Chien’s short biographies which were distributed with no systematization in Tang’s poetic record, The biography of Tang’s brilliant scholar and The glorious time of Tang’s poems which was excerpted from The whole Tang’s poem. Because of this, people have few impressions on him and his contributions for the literary history. This text has Chih Nan Ping’s Wang Chien’s chronology as its base and describes Wang Chien’s life by his three important stages. These three important stages are: The life of pursuing studies before 30, the soldiering experience from 31 to 44 and the officialdom career at the age of 45 to 60. Also, the comment of his network of life is in the end of the text. The guideline of Wang Chien’s creation for Yueh Fu poem inspired by his friends , Chang Chi, Lee Chao, Lee Yi and Han Yu.
