為瞭解昆蟲對於林木的利用與在植株上的分布情形，本調查研究選取位於屏東萬隆農 場的平地造林地，設置一個約100公頃的調查樣區，每月調查記錄在樣區内櫸木(Ze/tova serrata: Ulmaceae ;榆科）上取食與活動的昆蟲種類。在2012年5月至2014年4月間，總共記錄鞘翅目 (Coleoptera)、半翅目（Hemiptera)、膜翅目（Hymenoptera)、等翅目（Isoptera)、鱗翅目（Lepidoptera)、 直翅目（Orthoptera)*»齒蟲目（Psocoptera)等7個目、48科91種昆蟲於櫸木取食或活動。再以昆蟲功能 群(guild)區分為食葉性種類計32種、汁液吸食性種類計12種、餃食性種類計3種、食枯木性種類計 31種、其他利用方式計13種，其中以食葉性種類所佔比例最高，但是以發現頻率、寄主專一性、 族群數量等方面分析不同昆蟲功能群對櫸木生長造成的影響，經評估汁液吸食性種類可能在調查 樣區内會造成較大的危害，本文中並探討不同昆蟲功能群對以櫸木為主軸的昆蟲群聚關係。

In order to understand the host utility and distribution of phytophagous insects on their host trees, this study settled a 100 hectare investigation plot in Wan-Long plantation, Pingtung County. Investigators monthly inspected and recorded the insects which fed on or utilized Zelkova serrata (Ulmaceae) in the investigation plot. During May 2012 to April 2014, total 91 insect species were recorded including Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Isoptera, Lepidoptera, Orthoptera, and Psocoptera. With regard to feeding guilds, 32 species are recognized as defoliators, 12 species as sap-suckers, 3 species as stem borers, 31 species as dead-wood feeders, and 13 species utilizing the tree in the way other than above categories. Considering the observation frequency, host ranges of insects, and population sizes, the sap-sucking insects should have severe impact on the health of host trees in the investigation plot. Additionally, discussion of interactions among these feeding guilds and insect communities on Z. serrate is presented
