本研究在2009 年3~8 月間調查塔塔加地區灰林鴞（Strix nivicola yamadae）出現道 路邊緣的情形，研究主要利用道路目擊調查法。結果顯示，月週期對灰林鴞在道路邊 緣出現情況無顯著差異；而灰林鴞利用道路邊緣有月份上的顯著變化（F=8.499, p<0.001），在3 月份時灰林鴞出現在道路邊緣頻度最低，而後隨著月份逐漸增加出現 頻率。在夜間時段對於灰林鴞利用道路的影響方面有顯著差異（K=7.343, p<0.05），在 下半夜時灰林鴞目擊次數顯著較低。在道路邊緣棲枝的選擇性上，灰林鴞對於里程 牌、方形交通牌誌、小型反光牌誌以及小型反光牌誌的利用高於預期，而對樹枝的利 用則有低於預期的情形。

This study investigated the use pattern on roadside by Tawny Owls (Strix nivicola yamadae) at Tataka area between March and August 2009. We conducted the study by roadside survey. The use of the roadside habitat by the owl was not remarkably affected by lunar cycle; but the roadside use had remarkably changed by month (F=8.499, p<0.001). The species used roadside less often in March, and then increased its usage since then. Owls appeared at roadside with lower occurrence after midnight (K=7.343, p<0.05). Additionally it preferred to perch on the road signs more frequently than expected, as compared with that on the tree branch.
